Note: I think these scumbags change their called ID to match the area code and prefix of whom they are calling. For instance if my phone number was: 949-174-0001 they would change their called ID to 174-0001 and start with 174-0001 through 174-9999.
It is a trick way of fooling people into thinking it is a local call since the area code is missing when they call.
And YES, I realize a prefix that starts with ‘174’ is bogus. I just used that for illustration.
