I called Toshiba regarding help on a new Toshiba computer. The techinician called back from this number. He is actually in Manila but he speaks understandable English. As stated in other posts, Toshiba's technical help calls back after a few hours or days to check on whether your computer is performing. You can check to make sure they are legitimate because they will have a "case number". It will match the case number they gave you when you called for help.
I would say if the caller doesn't have the correct case number, DO NOT TALK TO THEM AND DO NOT LET THEM ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER.
There are scams where people call and say they have a message that your computer is not working and they will hijack your computer. The crooks will install viruses that steal your computer information.
