What if the debt collector has violated the law? Collecting debts when done within the law, though not a righteous occupation, is a valid occupation. Unfortunately, they are aware that they have profited more, than it has cost them to this point, using their bottom feeder methods.
Then find the attorney generals office in the state you reside. File a complaint there also.
Find the place to file a complaint, you will have to do this in writing. Or, call them for help. Remember, it doesn't make a bit of difference whether you owe a debt or not. They still cannot break the laws.
I suggest that you retain legal help. However, this isn't always financially possible. So, I am including a link to a site that can help you handle it on your own.
Actually, I haven't been called. But, I know a number of people who have.
If anyone has actually been served by JDI and associates. Please notate the Parties named in the summons. And the attorney or firm that is handling it, and post it here. Also, which circuit court the complaint has been filed in along with the case number.
There very well might not be any cases. Because, it seems the louder the bark, the less teeth.

Now you all have a company name and address, to file your complaint with the Attorney Generals of your state and with their state. You also, have a letter to send a cease and desist letter to. While you are at it you should also, file a complaint to the better business bureau in each state, if you feel that there is a basis for the complaint.

Everyone including friends and relatives that are getting harrassing, and threatening phone calls can use the link below. It is a new department that was instituted a couple of years ago.
File the complaints there. If you check back on some of the posts you will find JDI street address and phone.
This group of collectors step all over the collection laws. Why, because they get away with it. You must keep records of times, and the threats made. If you can get the individuals name that is making the call would also be helpful.
