Thank you this literally just stopped me from falling for this scam. The only reason I believed it was because I found his listening through my colleges network so I of course thought it was legit.
says hus name is david coop or david cooper. has my email address and phone. wants to meet next week for a job as personal assistant. in his craigslist ad for personal assistant, he stated he will be coming from northern ireland to nyc in march to run his engineering firm. has some other accent than irish. call today kept breakingup.
I too received a call from a David Cooper. The message is the same except he will be operating his import/ export car business out of Dallas. Hmmm! I also noticed the accent was not of an Irish nature. He could have moved there from somewhere else, I know. The phone # used is out of California but he states he is in Ireland. He also asks that you have a PayPal account to manage his expenses. Ofcourse, you will receive the funds from his so called "sponsor" to cover the costs. WHATEVER! Obviously another scam created by those lazy, punk [***] bithces who don't want to get a job!
I've set up a time to meet David Cooper this Friday, April 22nd. We'll see if he shows!
i responded to a cragslist ad about a driver and i got a call from this number, Guy says his name is David Cooper and he needs a driver / assistant. The guy payed me through a "Sponsor" via paypal. They payed me $2400 and told me to keep $400 as an upfront deposit and the other $2000 i am to send Western Union to "his travel agent" in NY. its a big scam! After you send the cash, they report fraud to paypal and then you are held liable for the entire amount!!! BEWARE!!! Also BEWARE of his associate in NY - 718-705-4889 - they work together...
