Got a call, when I answered, a robot voice just said "goodbye." Called the number back, heard people speaking Spanish in the background. Someone finally answered in Spanish, said he was calling on behalf of Dish Network regarding some promotions. Told him I wasn't interested.
Called 2 x mobile numbers in our family, one immediately after the other. I answered the 2nd time. The first person I spoke to said they were DirecTV Customer Service, couldn't speak a lot of English, and transferred me to a supervisor. When I asked why they were calling our numbers, was told in Spanish that they were verifying whether telephone numbers given on a cable promotion application were legitimate. When I asked who they were trying to locate, was told Maria Hernandez and Juan Morales. This is a clear case of ID theft because the 2 x numbers in question have been in our family for 17 years, and do not belong to either name listed above. I told them that this was a fraudulent application. I kept pressing for more details but the supervisor Moses got evasive, said he couldn't give out any more info, and hung up on me. He did say that the promotional company was called Visual Landing, but wouldn't spell it for me.
