I just rec'd a call and I knew it was a scammer. I picked up and then heard a dial tone. Best to NEVER call back these scammers - as sometimes the phone number is out of the country - especially the Caribbean where they'll charge u enormous amounts for the call and our gov't can't help u.
I answered the phone call from this number. Before the young man started his sales schpeil, I politely asked him to put my number on their DO NOT CALL LIST. His respone: "NO WAY! DO IT YOURSELF!" And he hung up.
Folks, my suggestion is to do what I do with most of these annoying callers. First get a human on the line, then politely ask them to hold the line for a minute. Set down the phone, don't hang up, but don't pick the phone until they go away. Let them chill for awhile. Doesn't guarantee that they won't call back, but it is kinda fun to be the annoying one.
An unwanted call arrived from this Riverside landline number today. When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller launched into a spiel about qualifying for electricity savings by going solar. Many other posters (see above) have reported receiving unwanted telemarketing calls from this scam artist.
