Allowed? It's not. Your caller was a fraud. Probably an Indian fraud. They don't care about legalities. They're criminals. Criminals rarely concern themselves with legalities.
When you sit back & think about the lines of BS that the foreign frauds use, you'll find yourself giggling. They never have a clue about how legal process works in the U.S. They depend on fear & intimidation. They're always indignant when they encounter an intelligent target. They always hope that their target is naïve. When that hope fails to materialize, they revert to their real selves. They'll start with the threats, the excuses, the bluster, the BS. When all else fails, they'll begin to graphically reveal their sexual fantasies. Those fantasies are due to their frustrations....and the looks of the only wife they could afford!
The frauds fail to understand that their targets will be, most likely, aware that legal documents can NOT be e-mailed. Nor can phone calls be considered a "notice" of anything. They also struggle with the fact that attorneys NEVER have their phone calls answered by some clown that simply answers with "Attorneys Office".
We can all be thankful that frauds are generally as dumb as a living being can be. They're nothing. Treat them as such!
