Blake Moore, above, says they are legit. The company IS legit and has been in business for 40 years. THASC sells greeting cards, pocket planners and other promotional products. THASC creates employment for The Handicapped And Senior Citizens.
HOWEVER ... This does NOT mean that THASC called you. I got a call several times today from some rude asshat that continued to call even after being told not to call me any more. It is possible that the dipwad calling you (as I believe it is in this case) is falsely representing THASC with their name and number on the caller ID. If you speak to them, beware. Use caution and ask lots of questions. Then, if you decide to do business with THASC, call their REAL number at (954) 978-3900. You can order from there, but don't do it with these callers until this issue is resolved by the telecom agencies. Visit their site at www.thasc.com/ for additional info.
I also got called more than once by this number. Once was about two weeks ago asking me to purchase cards, noting that I had previously ordered, and also explaining their organization. After going on their website after the first call two weeks ago, I looked them up again on the Better Business Bureau-an excellent rating and also signed in and confirmed my prior order. Their organization notes that the money goes toward Seniors and handicapped artists as noted above. I placed an order of cards. The purchased items came quickly and as indicated. However, and about 2 weeks later, I got a call back today asking me to purchase cards, I told them I had, the caller said I had not, then fairly abruptly hung up. As noted above, I do wonder if the caller now actually represents the organization or if this is a phishing scam. I did not talk to the person long enough to know what information they would ask of me.
