I get these calls also. I reported the phone number and the person who told me I was entitled to 5k stimulus money to the District Attorneys office in my state. What ever you do, do not confirm your name, address or give them your bank account number (they want it to route money into your account...should I say take money out of your account) Beware because they will ask you to wire them the taxes off the money you wont via Western Union. With no way to track it, they have your money.
If it sounds too good to be true..it probably is not true.
Sounds like a scam to me.I got the phone call from some Asian sounding lady,(970-002),her accent was so heavy, that i could barely understand her.I felt like saying to her,can you put me on with someone who can speak better English?. As soon as i said to her: if it takes money to send money, she hung up on me. So obviously it must be a scam. I get these on my Spam Box all of the time, you have won the UK international lottery.
If it's a landline, you will probably need to contact your phone service provider to find out if you have blocking capabilities on your phone. If so, they can tell you how to do it. If you have a cell phone with blocking capabilities, (or a reject list), then just set it to go straight to voicemail. If your cell phone doesn't have a reject number feature, you should call your provider and see if you can get that service added.
