Just received a call from a "James Williams" who stated he is with the IRS. Says his badge # is SM2986. The IRS NEVER calls you, they will however, send you a certified letter asking you to call them. This is a scam. before I could get anymore information from him, he hung up on me, and hasn't answered the phone when I called back ( he also DOES NOT sound like his name would be James Williams, just a generic cover up) please don't give these people any money!
I did not answer. They left an automated voicemail stating I was hiding something from the IRS/Fed Government. Definitely a SCAM. Do not give these people your information or time.
They left a message saying I was hiding something from the IRS. How do these people get our number. It's so annoying. I don't answer numbers I don't know, but I have been getting so many weird numbers from all over calling me I just send it straight to voicemail. None ever leave messages but this one did. I'm glad to know it wasn't just me. Avoid the call!
Just received a call from that number but didn't answer! Call back with number 970-920-5400 and ask that he call me back so we can talk. Sounds like a person from India and not the IRS. When he calls my number back he will contact the local Police Department directly!!
