I received the same call today, they took my old address, but that address I did not reported anywhere during the tax filing. So I cross checked and told them if you don't have my right address with you, How can you send police to me. in the further conversation he said , there is a possibility of some body used my identity and filled wrong tax filling , and you are the victim. So question is , Why somebody will file the tax return in my behalf ?
Received a call from this woman telling me that if I did not pay them money that I owed from the IRS they were going to send the police. I asked them for the filed number so I can call the IRS directly. They said that notification had been sent to my address; once again I asked for the filed number since they show a notification they should have a copy on file. They said that I will need to send money or they will need to send the police I told them to go ahead and send the police and that I'd get ready and put on a nice outfit and hung up.
