Hi there, how did they get your $?  My friend thought the check was real and deposited it and is now concerned.

The check is fake.  It will bounce.  If your friend took money out and sent it to them, it is gone, and they will be responsible to the bank for the total amount plus any fees involved.  Some people have been criminally charged for depositing those checks.
