God bless you, Kathy. I have been getting robocalls form these [***] for over a year and I use an air horn from Walmart to retaliate. It's good to know that someone else knows that the calls will not stop but you can assault their eardrums when they do call. This time I air horned Rachael, again. You would think she would get the hint - unless they are using bogus names like the bogus phone numbers they use. What really pisses me off is that the government has satellites in space (that we paid for) and they can look down at me and tell when I have a joint in my sock. But they can't trace these annoying phone calls and stop them. I can't believe these guys are actually make money with this scam, but they must be. Otherwise they would stop calling. Oh Well! Gotta run back to Walmart. Rachael got my last honk. Keep your whistle handy and tell all your friends to do the same.
keep receiving calls from "Lower Interest although my telephone number is on the "Do Not Call List".
I would like to send a message to them via the court system and collect for repeated harrasing calls.
These calls from "Card Services" at many different numbers - mostly with "spoofed" area codes in the Pacific Time Zone, but a few from MD and NY, are not just scams, THEY ARE CRIMINAL PHISHING for credit card numbers and other personal information. Just once, well over a year ago, I answered; and when I asked which credit card company was calling, received an immediate hang-up. Since then, I have never answered another call unless I recognize the caller (and sometimes not even then - voice mail is very helpful :-) but I continue to receive (usually) one call daily. I always do a Google(tm) search on the number and, without exception, find them reported here on 800notes.
Several days ago, for another number (spoofed to a Los Angeles area code), there was a lengthy explanation of the criminal nature of the "Card Services" calls. I wish I had kept a copy to share - maybe the folks who run 800notes can find it and re-post it for all the different numbers being used. I am now starting a log and will report all these calls to the FCC, FTC, DOJ Consumer Office, and the State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Office. I hope everyone reading this will do the same and NEVER answer calls from numbers you don't immediately recognize. Better to look for a voice mail from legitimate callers or take time to run a search on the unrecognized number.
Good luck - at least you may be able to reduce the frequency to one per day by not answering for the next 18 months.
Here's an interesting idea. If you don't recognize the number on the caller ID don't answer it. And if the ID says "Lower Interest", like mine did, and you still answer it then it's your own fault. The numbers are computer generated and and it is noted which numbers are real time answers. BTW, according to the do not call law, calls in which the individual has to PROCEED by pressing a key make you the caller.
Calls to my number have dropped 90% because I ignore them. Try it.
