If you are listed with the DO NOT CALL registry(1-888-382-1122) you can file a complaint at donotcall.gov It so far has not discouraged them from calling me 1-3 times a day for the last month. Called at 10:03 AM PAcific Standard Time, left no message. This is a robocaller that calls as many as 3 times daily. I have sometimes stayed on the line to ask the name of the company but they hang up when I do that. The robot always starts off with "If you are a senior citizen" and they are selling some kind of medical alert device - or more likely getting credit card numbers for the purpose of credit fraud.
Yes, telemarketer who is in fact a scammer, collecting credit card information so they can clean out your credit line and leave you with the bill. My wife keeps a police whistle handy to blow in their ears when she gets these calls (you have to stay on the line long enough to get to a human).
