received call from 971-270-1243 looking for my address to drop off legal documents as I am being sued. I asked who was calling - claimed they couldn't hear me. I hung up - this is a total scam
I got same thing. He claims to be a officer Do they realize that they look stupid because oeople Don't call u when u have a case against u! How do they get your info?
Got a vm called back number on caller id and spoke to a nice man who politely told me a called his personal home number. A nother scammer threatening law suits with phoney file numbers and no company name.
These people called me today got mad cause I didn't answer his questions the way he wanted.! Said I was ghetto and a whole bunch of other stuff that could get him fired being that he did say the phone calls were being recorded. I'm asking him who is is what company he is with & he is like your to rude your done, you kids won't learn, I'm sending the sheriff's to your house! I told him to send them even claimed they would out a warrant out for my arrest. I don't even know these people & if they had the right info they would know where to send whatever they was trying to send!
Give your state attorney general's office a call. The caller has violated the FDCPA several times - refusing to give his company information on request AND threatening arrest. You were correct in refusing to give the caller any information.
You are NOT warned if a warrant is coming (and arrest will not happen- even if you did owe money).
