This stupid company has called from every single area code in this earth. The funny thing is that NO reputable company would call and leave a message with someone's name and say the reason they are looking for them. They say they are going to contact their human resources department, and they are looking for an address to mail documents. Common, this is such a big JOKE. Not even the IRS does things like this. The IRS is a serious bill to play with, and even they mail documents, and after a couple of attempts if they get no response, they will send letters that require signature.
Bottom line, no matter how deep and stern their voices are, someone smart will NOT fall into the intimidation your want to portray. It's all the flags that are raised when your not a legal company.
They are attempting to collect money from you by threatening lawsuits and jail time. It is sad, but some people DO fall for this scheme, which is why they are so relentless. I have been receiving these calls for the past 2 1/2 years and its always a different "company" saying they are at my local courthouse or that they are offerring me some kind of "deal" to settle before it goes to the courts and I "lose my rights".
People need to be informed about their rights and what a true creditor can and cannot do in order to collect money owed.
they called again today references that I have been officially notified of the summons that I will be delivered to my home or place of employment... I called them back and chewed them out... They said they are Goldberg and Associates.. I told her that they are a scam and to remove me from their call list before I take further action... she asked for my information - I said NO! They can see who is calling them- so I am not falling for that....
I received calls from this man saying he was from Goldberg & Associates saying I had defaulted on loans from a finance company, but the more and more he talked to me, I could tell he was a fake. Then he called back after I hung up while he was talking and asked "Did we get disconnected or did you just hang up?" then he gives this attitude as if we know each other on a personal level. He tried to get my social security number, I told him he had the wrong person and then he said, "fine ma'am take your chances with your day in court."
I've been receiving these ridiculous messages so I decided to answer when they call. They threatened me with being served in my county, so I asked them when and where, and they don't even know where I am. Lol. When I started laughed, she got mad and hung up. Hahahaha!
Just an addendum to my previous post. I finally called these idiots back, since they keep calling me. I have a pre-paid cellphone, so all these calls cost me money. I explained to the fool that answered that I'm not this Gary King person they're looking for, and to stop calling. Did it help? No, since I've received 5 more calls since then, the last about an hour ago. It's actually kind of funny. Now, they want an address to serve some kind of subpoena. Well, how are these fools going to serve legal documents on anyone if they don't even have their correct phone number?
