They called asking for my wife and when I asked them what this was in regard to they said they wanted to speak to her as it involved personal information. Would not give further information. Asked for a number to reach her. When I would not give additional info they asked that I have her call the number listed on phone. Probably a collection agency.
Called at 8:30 a.m. and left a message on answering machine. The caller (no name given) stated he (a male voice) was with "Dynamic Recovery Service, a debt collector" asking to discuss a matter with "you" and to return the call at some 800 number. First of all, they DID NOT ask for anyone in particular; although we have had our phone number for many years, we still get calls for the previous user of our phone number - could they be calling for that person? Secondly, we do not have any debt or credit cards. This smells like a phishing operation to me.
There is a debt collector using similar name http://www.bbb.org/upstatesc/business-reviews ... le-sc-90002487/ It's impossible to distinguish their use of deceptive, abusive, and exploitative debt collection tactics as illegal under state and federal FDCPA or a scam.
