The something else is "phishing for valid numbers." Each time a call is placed and the person answers, that number
is then placed on a "valid number" list and that list is sold to many other "idiots" who have nothing better to do than to program their robo-caller units to include these number and an entire block of additional numbers.
IF SOMEONE REALLY NEEDS TO SPEAK WITH YOU THEY WILL LEAVE A VM. OTHERWISE THEY MAY SEND
YOU A LETTER. JUST BECAUSE THE PHONE RINGS DOES NOT MEAN THE PRESIDENT IS CALLING. LET IT GO TO VM AND THEN SCREEN THE CALL.

I would recommend give them a fair shot.
Wait, wait, Richard. Tell me why, if you got great service from this scamming caller, you came to this web site to check up on his phone number? Is that normal? NO.
Clearly you are a shill for the scammer -- OH! You could be the scammer yourself! THAT'S IT!
Thanks DickH*** - Now I know it was someone ignoring the DO NOT CALL list. Honest business' don't operate in that manner. Just keep calling my number, you'll still be blocked. While you're calling me you'll be leaving other poor, unsuspecting foilks alone.
Knew it would be a scam call, but answered any way.
