4:45PM Saturday - Caller ID said, "Frisco, TX". Did not leave message. I think there must be some boilerhouses in Frisco, Texas - get calls from lots of different numbers. So glad I can check here to see who else got the same telemarketing calls.
Just got a call from 972 370 3435 at 3:30 pm. No answer, but as I screamed into the phone stop calling this number I heard someone try to speak. I hung up. It was from Frisco tx.
Avoid the TxFOP at all costs. If you donate once, they will hound you for years. Most of the money goes to the collectors, not the Police officers or their families who need it. They used to identify themselves on the caller ID, but now it just shows Out of Area.
Here is something to consider, even if they did represent the real FOP.
It was found that only 15% of donations went to those who need the help.
The donations that the Fraternal Order of Police solicits are meant to help families of fallen police officers.
I think something is wrong when 85% of donations get used paying for telemarketing etc and only 15% gets to the families of fallen police officers.
Keep in mind, there are other charities that handle the way they do business and have much better records regarding actually getting your donation to those they represent. If you want to make donations to help those who help keep us safe etc, check your local Better Business Bureau, do a little research and find one you know handles money well and make your donation to them on your own.
