Sounded like he was from India. He left a message saying he was calling from US Treasury Dept., threatened legal action etc. just as everyone else has said above. I called him back and he picked up... "US Treasury Department, Officer Bla Bla Bla speaking, how may I help you?" I said "Are you serious, nobody is going to fall for this." He started yelling over me "Yes! I am serious!" I said "first of all a professional that works for the government would never respond to me the way you just did." He slammed down the phone. Definite scam.
Got the call 6/26/16. Called back ( cause i have unlimited everything on my phone). Phone was disco the same day and number is disco now as well. Obviously a scam. Ignore.
Robocall left on my machine starts off "Hi my name is Scammer. This message ..." and the rest is heavily distorted except for occasional phrases that were clear like "judge", "United States Treasury" and "Federal criminal offence". Their phone number 972-426-7198 was repeated twice. This is a scam extortion call. The call fluctuates so badly in pitch and loudness that it was unintelligible which is what happens with VOIP+TOR.
