Received a call from a woman telling me to call back this number and use a 4 digit ref # to talk to her about my IRS taxes owed.When I called back I got a guy bullying me and telling me I needed to pay them $500 today or I would be arrested for theft by deception and be fine up to $200,000 or 5yrs in prison.
Voice message left was extremely threatening. Message was muffled and broken. Something about tax fraud charges being pressed against me. Something about a Federal Magistrate Left the code number 9165.
But the call back number was extremely clear. Urgency was mentioned so that charges were not pressed against me.
I had same call. Message was broken and unclear at best. Minus the reference number of 9165 and call back number. When I called it back it will either ring until I get disconnected or ring and then say "this is a non working number".
Got a call from a man in Texas. Said I needed to call her. She said she was from US treasury & my name came up for tax fraud. Needed to call back before I was arrested. Not calling, just another scam.
