This call came in about a month ago with the threat of a lawsuit. Mentioned my lawyer should call them back within 24 hrs. Now again (6/1/15), I receive same call with same threat. The caller isn't even asking for me.
this is a scam! Once they get your info they try to tell you that you owe money. They do not tell you anything about who is trying to collect or anything and they can't send anything in the mail - that is your first or second clue! I did speak with a legal representative, this is how the scare people to get them to send $$$. If they were going to serve you - they would do it without contacting you - cause you would run, 2nd they need to give you legal documentation (hard copies) of who is trying to collect. They tell you they can't everything will be send via email after you pay them....they never send anything via email so you are out funds and then they stop for a while and start back up. So if you do have collection agencies calling you, be sure to get a hard copy before sending any funds and never give out your bank account information.
Again, this is a scam! check it out - educate yourself and don't always think the worst of anyone - you never know what has happened in their life!
Called and left same message that I would have legal action within the next 24 hours if I did not call them. Called from local area code but told me to call a 972 number back.
Nope, it's absolutely a collections agency. My brother has left hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid debt in every city he's lived in. I'm not assuming this. I know it. By law, collection agencies can call relatives of deadbeats to leave messages asking for a return call from the deadbeat. They don't have to stop until the deadbeat relative returns the call and specifically tells them to stop. They are hoping family will pressure the deadbeat into calling. Problem is, deadbeats don't care if their family members get annoying collections call. If they can ignore their bills, they can certainly ignore their family.
