A very aggressive telemarketer named Conner called pushing a roofing inspection because "Texas Premier Services" of McKinney will be in my neighborhood tomorrow. While a Google search showed no results in the area matching this business, he insisted that they were licensed and had a triple A rating with the Better Business Bureau. A BBB search turned up nothing either. Amusingly, the BBB doesn't use AAA in their rating system, which runs from F to A+. Can you say, "Scam Alert!"? As our roof and attic have been recently inspected by a highly reputable business that I have a longstanding relationship with, I politely declined. He wants to give me a free second opinion. I then explained to him that he is violating the Texas and Federal Do Not Call Laws. He responded that he wasn't a telemarketer because the inspection is free. I further explained to him that any attempt to sell his company's services over a telephone qualifies as "telemarketing". Idiot! One more for No Mo Robo.
