Jay, We have ATT also & they want more $ to block this crap. Just buy a Panasonic phone st like ours, which blocks up to 250 caller ID's. I haven't max'ed it out yet!
Kit, I see you've taken some steps to stop being a victim. That Panasonic phone is a great start, but does have the disadvantage of ringing before blocking any numbers and as you will soon see, 250 numbers will get filled up quick.
Rather than coming here every few days to complain that the government isn't stopping that one ring from the same number, why not take the next logical step and move from that expensive, outdated landline service to a VOIP service that can eliminate these calls and do it without your phone ever ringing. I moved my number from AT&T to voip.ms a while back when I was getting 15+ garbage calls every day and could not be happier about it. I have yet to pay as much for the service as one month of AT&T and it's virtually eliminated the bogus calls.
As our phone systems become more connected to and replaced by the internet, the government will no more eliminate spam calls than it does spam email.
