An actual Process Server is not going to have any conversation with you about any debt you owe, nor will they demand payment from you. If something like this happens, immediately call local law enforcement and make a full report including as much descriptive information as you can give them of the person impersonating a court officer.
Now they're harassing me at work. I have receive three calls on my direct work line after work hours. The first was from Sara ???? with some unknown legal processing company. When Googled, could only find a law firm company located in Florida and the call back number she left was for Dover, Delaware. Then last night a man calling himself Larry Wright called and left an "urgent" message on my direct line at work (after 6:00 pm) and then called back and left another "urgent" message on our company receptionists phone. I am so frustrated right now!!!!!! Going to report it to the police!
I just received a call and the caller ID showed LOR, LLC and the Investigator’s name was John Calvin. He was rude, argumentative and nasty. Said that I was going to be served and prosecuted for an outstanding payday loan from Bahamas Marketing Group in 2013. The original deposit was $300 and now I owe $760. I just tried to Google LOR, LLC and nothing is coming up. This is another scam and this guy sounds American. I don’t have any outstanding payday loans. Settlement offer is $500. This is ridiculous
Yes, it is. And--(believe it or not), a lot of these calls are originating from within the US. I read an article several weeks ago about a woman up in NJ who lost $1,000 to a similar scam. A detective, determined to find the source traced the call to a cell phone being used by a inmate in a prison cell in SW GA. It was discovered that this was a part of a bigger crime ring--aided and abeited by correctional facility employees. Sad, but true...
