It is a new pre-pay phone company, because GTL no longer services some of the NYS DOCs (including Mid-State). I guess I'll find out from the facility tomorrow who the new phone company is. Otherwise, set up a new account when he tries calling again. Hope this info helps.
The company is Vaule Added Communication. They are taking over for Global Tel for the NYS PRISON SYSTEM. I would not reccomend setting up an acount over the phone though, as my account was charged twice but you can go through their website at www.myvconnect.com to set up an account and make a deposit. Whatever money you deposit, will be withdrawn immediately from your bank. You can also call 1-800-786-8521 to talk to one of their customer service representative to set up an account.
