just "missed" a call from 972-560-4312 on my church cell phone; and curious where it was from. I've used multiple DVDs from Bluefish over the past 10 years or so. They've been very useful in various settings -- from using in adolescent (ages 10-18) residential units to after school programs, as well as with our church youth. HOWEVER, they do tend to be very pushy!!!! AND I have refused to pay for some items they've sent out "on approval" WITHOUT actually getting my OK -- I had NOT ordered them! The last series, for showing to adult leadership -- which did NOT sound like it would fit our setting, I reluctantly said OK on the phone AFTER they continued to insist that I was under no obligation. I reviewed the "introductory DVD"... and then even looked at some of the others, asked one of our other pastors what he thought; and he had no interest in the speakers on the DVDS except one, BUT of course you had the buy the entire series -- nearly $500! Bluefish automatically sends a bill, I guess asuuming someone will just pay the bill; and not ask questions. Then they called (a couple of weeks before Christmas) to ask how the series was working. I told them the series just wasn't a good fit for us, SOOOOOOO they insisted that I keep them "until after the first of the year...till the end of January to have time after the holidays to let other leadership review them. AND guess what, mid January I get a bill for the FULL "retail" amount -- no longer a discount applied!!!! Needless to say I'd had it AND threw everything back in the original box and marked RETURN TO SENDER!!!! THEN I get anotherr bill 45 days later!!!!! YES, THEY GOT A PHONE CALL!!! They claimed that they had "just received it" -- yeah right, I know snail mail -- from Ohio to Texas -- is slow BUT NOT that slow! I've NOT ordered anything for some time now; AND I TOO wish they would stop making their PUSHY sales calls. My BIGGEST MISTAKE was listing my cell with them! I just called them back 972-560-4312 AND was assured that they have now noted that they are not to call my cell phone for any sales calls.. Guess we'll see if they honor that.
I got a call from Bluefish again, after requesting for our number to be taken off their list repeatedly. I am so disgusted with their lack of honoring this request, that I wouldn't buy their products if they were 75% off! Oh Bluefish, swim off into the Pacific somewhere and leave us alone - pleeeeeeaasssee!
Man oh man I tell you they never quit. I have never done business with them, nor do I think I would. Ever since a convention I was at two years ago, they started to call. Leave messages like someone was dying or something to that effect because it was that important to call them. I only bought one item at the convention and it wasn't through them. So some where down the road my information has gotten sold. So a word to the wise, there is no company important enough that you need to stop everything you do and talk to them. They are a sales market for religous items and they target churches, clergy, camps, and anything that deals with your spiritual world. It's real sad that man has to take something so honorable and turn it into selfish greed. Reminds me of a story in the Bible when Jesus walked into a "church" and saw people being turned away because their offering to God wasn't good enough. However! you surely can buy one of their certified offering lambs and walk right in. Needless to say Jesus wasn't happy and turned the whole place inside out. Of course this story is pharaphased but just the same. In time he'll clean house against the people who uses his and his father's name in vein.
