Caller ID says Blue Cross, however person asked me how could she help me, I said I don't know you called me, she then said oh auto call, pretend to look up my name (typing on the keyboard) then asked me for my Date of Birth, I said I don't give out that information, and she said ok have a nice day. I called Blue Cross (they have an 800 number) and they said they were not trying to call me.. I tried redialing number and it says connect connect as dialed. This is a scam account and I am reporting.
This is Blue Cross Blue Shield, my insurance provider. In the past, they have sent me a letter telling me about their wellness programs. I trash the letter and BCBS follows up with a phone call and always leaves a message. It's annoying, but this is a legitimate phone call.
My opinion is that this is a scam call that is phishing for personal information. They called and said they were Blue Cross and asked for my son, who moved to another state about 14 years ago and who has never had Blue Cross insurance. So I know the caller was not from Blue Cross and I don't think they got the information from Blue Cross because Blue Cross would have no record of my son. No one in my family has ever had Blue Cross! I would recommend you not respond to this call. Maybe they are just trying to sell you something they think your insurance will cover, and maybe they want to find out enough personal information to steal your identity.
