A woman was on the line when I answered the phone at my small business. She asked for me and my wife by name. Not sure how she got my wife's name or why she asked for her since she is not on ANY of the business filings, accounts, etc. She did not say what she was calling with regards to, or her company. I told her that my wife did not work here and then asked her what company she was calling from. The woman said she was with MC or MCA, and that she wanted to schedule a time tomorrow to discuss various marketing strategies, such as building and promoting my company website online. I told her that I was not interested and it was then that she became snippy and more aggressive with her sales pitch. She asked, "What is it you are not interested in?" I said that I was not interested in anything she was selling. She came back with, "So, you want your business to fail, then, is that right? You don't want to do better? You don't care?" Right then, I hung up. She was still blabbering something when I clicked [OFF/CANCEL]. If I wanted any of the services that she was pushing, I would have looked up a reputable company online rather than speaking to someone I did not know, from a company that I had never heard of, and without checking reviews and such online first. None of that matters, however, because I do my own SEO, website design, blogging, and other online marketing, which I am assuming she would know, if she looked up my company online before robo-calling me, since I am on page 1 of Google several times, in several categories already, and I already have a website, and I am already everywhere else online, including the most popular social media channels. I have been in the advertising and marketing business for more than 20 years, and have been very successful with creative online marketing for more than 10 years. Just searching for my name and my companies' names would show pages and pages of results.
