Left a voicemail (with a thick accent) saying I was going to have to appear before a magistrate judge for a "federal offense" and I should call back to "help them help me" (didn't identify the company they were calling from or anything else). I did a reverse look-up of the phone number on Whitepages.com and it is flagged and Scam/Fraud. I called back and a thick accent answered - I told him his magic jack number was flagged as a scam! How stupid do you think I am! Do not call me again OR I HOPE I DO SEE YOU IN COURT! AND THEY'RE GOING TO NEED SOME HANDCUFFS FOR YOUR [***]! He promptly hung up on me and when I called again (because I wasn't done going off) it said it was a non-working number! <:(
Heavily accented man left voice mail saying I needed to call them back about a serious offense. Same spiel as Jessica posted earlier. I wish these people would get a real job and go away. I added this number to my blocked list.
Same message as Jessica ... federal offense, magistrate, in trouble with the US Treasury and this counted as my second official notice, etc .... phone number showed up on caller alert box as "No Name" and 972-920-3729. FYI - No Federal Official (from the IRS, Treasury, US District Attorney's Office or Grand Jury) and no State or County Government official leaves only a phone message -- all official business by any government agency MUST BE documented in writing. Any phone contact that does not provide a contact name, office name, physical location, and case number is suspicious.
