Scam caller posing as Microsoft with a guise that my computer is virally infected and the premise is for me to give them control of my system- so they can fix the non-existent problem. Have battled with and threatened this same outfit for 3 years,( ie complaint to Ma. State's Attorney,) to no avail. Call came at 21:45 pm. Wit's end disgusted with the invasions. (973.296.9874) thank you.
973-296-9874 Called about error messages... I think he referenced windows. Said his name was Brad. Told him I have a MAC... seemed to pick up on what I said to convince me to fix my computer due to error reports(he began talking about errors then switched to hackers after I had said he might want to hack me.) (I had FB shut down several times in past few weeks and report sent to Safari). I told him I needed to verify who he was. He Gave me a # 760-933-1530 to call to verify him. I put him on hold and checked On line reports... these seem to be scams. I told him I was not comfortable giving him access and I would call back after I was comfortable with who he was. He called me back and I called the # he gave me. the woman that answered said when I asked that this was (apple I think) tech support and transferred me. The answerer sounded like the same guy I talked to but said his name was Ron. When asked what they do there he referenced the hacking.
I did not ask him to verify Brad. I then hung up and went back to Brad and told him I would call that tech # back to get assistance when I had done additional research to become comfortable with their getting into my computer. He was very pushy truing to get me to do it now. Finally he gave up and I said good bye. He might be on the up and up but I don't trust him and plan to try to contact Apple to verify that he is who he said he was. I will get back to him ONLY if I get reliable confirmation. The WV State attorney General is my friend and I will alert him if I do not get confirmation.
