My mother received the same call asking for $2900 because her grandson (my son) was in Jail in Oklahoma City. I called him (Matthew Dixon) and was told I had to wire the money via Western Union to a David L. Doolittle in Boston Mass.
If you or someone you know is contacted by this number do not buy into their scam. They called my grandfather who is on his death bed and said that i was in an accident . Long story short my family thought i was hurt and in big trouble and they wanted someone to send them money through moneygram. I woke up to all this, called the number because i was apparently in jail in buffalo new york, i live like 1200 miles away. They told me to [***]. [***] these guys. Almost put my grandfather in the hospital.
They called my parents and came close to losing $2,500. The money was wired but they were able to stop it. They are scammed that are somewhat believable. They said their grandson was in jail and this was needed to get him out.
They called my grandmother, told her I was in a hospital in NJ and wanted her to wire them $2,500. Thankfully she was smart enough to call me first. Do not give into their scam. They gave their name as "Mathew Dixon." When I called and confronted the guy about it, he told me to s**k his c**k. Don't give into their scam.
