This is a con ... trying to convince you they are Blue Cross Blue Shield ... even going so far as to leave a message .. with the very wrong phone number for the legitimate BC/BS .. to call them back ASAP .
So when this number appears in your Caller ID ... do not answer ... do not if you do give them ANY information ... and definitely do not call them back at the number given

Colorado Kid, it sounds like you & I are going through the same thing -- getting harassed by these crooks claiming to be Anthem Blue Cross. We both get calls from this number & the similar 978-533-2030. I blocked both numbers, had no calls from them for 19 days -- until today I get a call from 1-978-533-2030! Note the "1" added to the blocked number so the call went through! I had figured this was a scam & now there can be no doubt. No legitimate company or marketer would go to such lengths. Yes, whatever you do, don't give these creeps any info -- better to not pick up at all!
Just a follow up for anyone who is interested. Here it is a year after I successfully blocked these numbers from a probable scammer claiming to be with Blue Cross & I just get a call today from 978-775-6209 -- whose message said they were with Blue Cross. I will be blocking their new number as well! Wonder where these creeps were for the past year. Could they have been in jail for their crimes? One can only hope! Not that it appears to have taught them anything.
They've called me a couple of times trying to get me to call them back.
Why are they calling me when I'm not the primary person on any health plan?
