They've called me twice within the last few days. The most recent was just now at 10:49 am. I happen to be home sick today but didn't pick up the call. As described above, it is a recorded call from Cigna's "personal health team" wanting to talk to me about some free service/benefit. I don't know how they expect to reach me when they call when I am at work (except for my sick day today!). They have in their records where I work, and it would be obvious to anyone that my job is during regular business hours. Of course, I'd also complain if they disturbed me in the evening. Guess I just don't want to talk to them!
ILLEGAL robo-call from a CIGNA contractor/subsidiary. Federal law (the TCPA) requires direct signed permission to robo-dial a cell, it DOES NOT MATTER if you have an existing business relationship or not. Even the government, the police, or campus security cannot robo-dial your cell for any reason (including an emergency) without signed consent. People please, report this scam company both to the Do Not Call Registry and to your state Attorney General for violating federal law if they robo-dial your cell without a signed consent agreement!
When they called yesterday at 2:43 pm, a recorded voice of a woman left a message saying she was from Cigna and to please call her back at 877-391-9145 . The recording was rather garbled and hard to understand. "She" did pronounce my name properly, which Cigna's automated system does NOT do when I call them. Doesn't mean I am calling back!
If you are covered through Cigna, this is a call to solicit you for free health advising through your insurance. They told me they could help plan weight loss goals, manage asthma, among other things. This is not a real robocall. It's annoying, yes, but it is a service you are enrolled in. I told them I wasn't interested and they said they wouldn't call again.
