Same exact thing happened to me. With the same exact number. I did get a check from them. It is on hold however... So if you do get one. Do not respond!
Tried to sell a bike on Craigslist. Person going by name of John Henry responded. I thought it was legit. Gave him my name and cell number. I know it is a scam. He tells me he sent me a check for $1,000 more than what I was asking. Wants me to keep and extra hundred 'for my trouble'. Wants me to Western Union a "shipper" the extra so the bike and a couple other items can be shipped.
I received no check. If I do I will turn it over to the FBI. Sounds like mail fraud.
