got a message on the phone that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. BS! The IRS would never leave that kind of message on my machine! Interesting considering just a few days ago I had to file a fraud claim with my bank for my debit card...
Caller called then hung up after three rings. Then they called back and left a message stating that the IRS was filling a law suit against me. I called back and a man answered with a heavy accent. Then phone went dead. I called again and the same thing happened. So just to see what would happen, I called a third time and basically the same result. If it was the IRS, they would have mailed a letter first.
Left a message that IRS is filing law suit against me and to call back during "regular business hours" but did not give specific hours. When I returned call the next morning, no answer. I googled the number, read about others getting this exact same voice mail and will not call them back. My CPA then advised me that the IRS corresponds via snail mail. Still...that fleeting moment of uh-oh. Frustrating.
Same as Joe and Virginia. Lawsuit being filed by IRS. I referred to Better Business Bureau the first time I got it a few months ago and they advised me to report to IRS at a specific number. I did that and didn't hear anything.....
Receive message to call. Heavy accented gentleman answered. Gave badge # 147066 and name of Jack Wilson, stated he was from IRS. Asked for my daughter first, when I told him this was not her number he asked for me. We have different last names and would never file taxes together, that was my first clue. I kept asking for someone who speaks English and he got pissed and tried to speak more clearly. I continued to ask for someone who speaks English and he finally hung up. I tried to call the same number back and no one would answer.
Computer voice, female, left message on my voice mail at my home number. IRS filing lawsuit...ha hah ha. The IRS does not file lawsuits, the file crimal suits. Adding to blocked number list on home and cell (thank you Cox and Verizon).
