"Number Guru" website locates call source being from Independence, Louisiana from a group named, "Level 3 Communications" and listed on Caller ID as "SSI" ( statistical sampling incorporated or 'institute' ). Foreign accented caller seeks to confirm identity of residential phone number owner. The second you confirm YOUR name, the call disconnects......suspiciously. Remember: statistical groups ARE CURRENTLY EXEMPT from National DO NOT CALL registry---but I'm suspicous of this group. Also remember: LEGIT calls leave voicemail messages; scammers NEVER DO.
We are receiving several calls per day from this number. "SSI" is also using 985-614-1069. Both of these numbers are in nearby towns. If you answer, the connection is immediately dropped. I wonder if they're checking to see if anyone is home?
They just called me from 9852479469 here in Louisiana asked a few questions and on departure they kept saying umm umm umm so watch out not sure what they r doing but will let y'all know
