Called today. Said she was from the confirmation department at something (very thick Indian accent very difficult to understand) .com and she needed to verify my contact information for my domain name.
Funny thing is I do have a domain name I am the contact on but it is inactive and was registered through Godaddy.com and this kind of call is just not their style.
I told her I would not be confirming any information at all over the phone and hung up.
If you own a domain name in the US some amount of personal information is required by law to be public record so I am pretty sure she just got the phone number from that and was phishing for more information for scam purposes.
Of course I could be wrong but when in doubt hang up.
