Just got the same text message. I called the 877 number, said it was from payday loans. I've never gotten a payday loan or cash advance before, so I found it irritating and slightly worried about identity theft.
Same here: I got a text saying "LEGAL NOTICE: A hearing is schedules for garnishment. To avoid interruption or a retainer contact a clerk at 1-877-882-8799". Having worked in a collections department, I can assure you that a reputable payee would not contact you via text.
