6 days late and signed up for auto draft on next payment. I have received up to ten calls a day this week. I think I may change my number, tell them I have no phone and only a mailing address. The way they handle this is rediculous and lacking class, especially in a recession. Every number they call from I will block. I have 19 blocked numbers in just a couple days.
It is another number that capital one auto finance uses to harass people who are late one their payments. FYI do a little research for your state laws and find out what is legal about how a company goes about collecting a debt. I think capital one is violating the harassment laws in some states! I was told by one of their staff collectors they can call up to 15 times in day between 9 am and 9 pm , however I have had far more calls than that in one day! I don't have caller id I have used *69 to find out who called because they never seem to leave a message so I know who to return a call to. I then call the number back to return the phone call so I know who the call is coming from. So I know this number is capital one auto finance. I have spoke to their representatives about my situation and let them know I am going to pay although it is going to be late, ( I was 32 days late when the phone started ringing non-stop!) They say the phone calls will continue until the payment is made there is nothing they can do to stop the calls. I think what they are doing to fool the harassment laws is calling from different numbers as I am getting calls from them from MANY different numbers that are all listed to Capital One!! They need to be stopped! With the economy with the way it is right now they should be grateful they have a customer that calls and explains their situation with them and lets them know that they are going to pay! Does anyone else have anything to say about them as I would love to hear what everyone else is experiencing with them as I want to file a complaint against them!
After telling cap-one the phone # for our chapter 13 attorney, they continue to call from this number and several others. They are going to get all of their money ... just take a little longer but still they call. As you say, in this economy they should be glad they will be getting paid. When you talk to them, they are dishonest about what they can and cannot do. What ever you do, DO NOT let them deduct payments from your bank account. They also took out payments from my friend's account 2 days before the date she had agreed for them to come out. I recorded silence as a ringtone on my cell. This is one of the numbers I have linked to it!

I agree completely! We were late with our payment. The person my husband spoke to assured him the last thing they wanted was to repo our car. A few days later, they repoed the car!. Almost a grand later, we got our car back and then received a letter warning us that the car would be repoed. Thanks for the warning well after the fact. It did no good telling them the payment would be late! Thank God we only have 3 payments left. They call all day long from several different phone numbers. Harassment on both levels!
You should notify your attorney IMMEDIATELY. There are Federal laws which prohibit a creditor from calling so long as that creditor is named within your Ch. 13 plan. Just FYI.
