Just received a call from officer Melvin. Voice mail said that he was from the IRS. Legal notice for tax evasion to be filed at Federal Court House within 15 minutes of his message if I do not call back. Arrest warrant to be issued. Since I have no tax problems I figured it was a scam. Left no case number. Googled 202-864-1620. SCAM
Received the same call from good ole Officer Melvin. Called back and was told there was a lawsuit against us for tax fraud that we were claiming less money than we were suppose to be claiming. Even gave me an example. He then went on to give me the dates of the certified letters they apparently sent and since we weren't here to sign for them we were avoiding the IRS. So a lawsuit has been filed and warrants for our arrest will be issued. I told him that we should have some way of obtaining this letter that they tried to send and he said they only have to try 2 times. I said I would have my tax accountant contact them and he hung up on me. Talked with our local Tax Advocacy Group and they told me it was a scam.. Seeing that this has happened to so many others is a relief, but very frustrating also.
they called threatned to have me arrested said I owed 8200 in back taxes and I would spend 18 months and 32 days in jail and when I asked what its about got mad and said u don't know what this is about? um no scam central
