Just received a call from officer Melvin. Voice mail said that he was from the IRS. Legal notice for tax evasion to be filed at Federal Court House within 15 minutes of his message if I do not call back. Arrest warrant to be issued. Since I have no tax problems I figured it was a scam. Left no case number. Googled 202-864-1620. SCAM
I almost had a heart attack with the message I received on voice mail. This need to be resolved. Please find these people. I am alone, My husband passed last year and he was a Veteran who died from complications from Agent Orange. My phone number is unlisted so I don't know how this person was able to get it. This phone call scared me so much I was shaking. I should have thought that I have paid my taxes all my life but was not thinking when I received the voice mail.
Do I need to change my phone #? I called my tax account and family with this and they were also concerned which brings a lot of concerns and worrying about their mom and friend. Please solve this.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.
These are nothing but Indian scammer/extortionists. This IRS scam has been going around for some time. The calls are not random --they know all your financial information (or a lot of it) and a lot of personal information. They are predators. They tend to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community. They are looking for people who are vulnerable. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE BACK. BLOCK THEIR CALLS. If you talk to them, they may sense some sort of fear or vulnerability on your part and they will HAMMER you with even more calls.
Ignore them.
Rule: If you receive a cold call form someone with an Indian accent who
1. offers you something or
2. threatens you,
you know it is a scam and you should hang up immediately and block the call.
Read and understand Tamianth's notes! And don't be afraid of these phantoms. Because that's all they are.
Received two voice mail messages at home stating same exact message. Call comes from District of Dubuis, but the phone number they tell you to call is from Washington DC, which is the (202) 864-1620. Another call came in at 5AM this morning - Ridiculous - Same recording. SCAM!!!!
