Recorded message from Ashley Coleman representing Comcast. Said matter was important but did not give any details. Callback number left was (866)500-2439, caller ID was EAS (203)270-2439. I guess this really is Comcast and not some telemarketer.
Forgot to mention in my previous post that my bill has been consistently WRONG since I first signed up with their Triple Play service. They made claims for my service that they did not honor such as free installation (they charged me three times for "installation" and all three amounts were different -- after lots of complaining they finally removed those charge), they claimed a FREE DVR cable box and started charging me for the box two months into my subscription, they don't READ (or have anyone who can read) my many letters that I sent to them, and other things that I don't have time to elaborate on. It's no wonder that a couple of years ago they were IN FACT rated as THE WORST business in the entire country when it comes to providing acceptable customer service. And they haven't gotten much better since. Example: A friend of mine in another town was considering Comcast and one or two of the Dish satellite services in our area. He decided to go with one of the Dish satellite services and notified Comcast that they are NOT to send out their ground crew to install the cable from across the street, over the road, down to his property and dig up his front yard a bit to hide the cable from view into his house. Over a week later after cancelling the appointment with Comcast, he was woken up one morning by the sounds of Comcast digging in his front yard! No knock on the door to notify him out of simple courtesy, just started digging. Since the service was cancelled to begin with they were considered trespassing on private property and may be officially charged. Just one of MANY horror stories thanks to Comcast. I notified Comcast in writing a little over 30 days ago (yes, they did receive my notice in the mail) that my account will be cancelled after April 2010. I'm sure they will continue my service anyway and attempt to collect for something that I most defintely do NOT want.
Well, I just got a call on my mobile (a number which I have had for 11 years) where the message claimed to be from Comcast. Interestingly, I have never been a ComCast customer!
They did not leave a message, so I called them back. Was on hold for about 2 mins. and when they picked up identified themselves as Comcast. Said payment was past due, which it was since we had been out of town. Told her we paid it, which we did, by mail, and she said she would make note of it. Very polite and personable lady.
