At least I am not the only one. I do not have a credit card from Chase, but had one from WaMu three years ago. I no longer have it, but some one had gotten my name and phone number and opened a card. I have called and gone to the Chase bank and have cleared things with me, but have this phone call of whom they say that they are from Chase and want more info from me.
Got a call to my cell phone claiming to be from Washington Mutual saying "my" card was locked & to press 1 to be connected with their Secuirity Dept. Then got another automated message saying to press 1 to unlock or 2 for some other hard to understand option. I did not press further and waited to speak with a person but no person came on nor was such an option available. Scam likely-hood HIGH!
Call came in at 10:30pm and, like the post from Very Unhappy, I heard a message advising to press "1" to unlock or 2 for something else. My caller ID says the caller was "Kurz Gisella." I hung up.
Just received a call from this number claiming to be Washington Mutual (a bank that no longer exists). Scam, scam, scam, hung up. Where do we report this?
