Just got a call from them, left message, sounded the same as Peggy's ^ ... From the U.S. Treasury, call them back or its a federal offense. My guess it's not what they say and fishing for your info.
I just received the same call from 203-502-7674 from an english speaking man with some sort of foreign accent saying he was from the U.S. Treasury Department and to call him back or it's a federal offense. Obviously an identity theft or bank account scam. NEVER RESPOND TO THESE PHONE CALLS PEOPLE! If they were real they'd be in writing through the mail.
I too just got home and noticed the same message on my answering machine. Don't worry it is a scam. Federal agencies will contact you by mail or come knocking at your door.
Just got a call from this number saying he was from the U.S. Treasury Department and to call him back or it's a federal offense. He left his name David Grey. This is the second time I have got this type of call. Last time was about 7 months ago from a man with broken English.
