I just rec'd 3 consecutive phone messages from this number. So I called it and they answered US Treasury. The person who answered did not have English as their first language and they were moderately difficult to understand but he was saying something about my wife, under her maiden name, was owing taxes in 2010. My wife has not reported an earning against that name since 1999. We have done our taxes jointly since 2006 so there is no way she would have back taxes from 2010. I told him to quit bothering me and when he started raising his voice, I raised mine higher and told him to "There is no possible way my wife owes any back taxes, you can go to he-double toothpicks and do not call here again!"
I received a message stating I should return the call because of an engagement action with the Treasury and to avoid going before the Magistrate Judge or to court for a Federal criminal offense, I must call 203 502-7674. Ever wonder why the Treasury does not send correspondence in writing to inform of such an offense; but, some guy with an foreign accept would contact me via telephone regarding the offense. - Need to shut this guy down
I received two voicemails on this yesterday at 12:35pm and 3:26pm (PST). Both basically saying the same thing concerning an enforcement action by the US Treasury. I VOIP thru Comcast with the voicemails emailed to me. I had received one of these 2 - 3 months ago. The transcripts are below:
05/15/2015, 12:35pm - "To contact you regarding an enforcement action could get it by the United States treasury and tending(?) you attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt so more initial(?) appearance before magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal defense. My number is 203-503-7674 I repeat it's 203-502-7674. I'd like you to call back and help us to help you. Thank you."
05/15/2015, 3:26pm: "Regarding an important action United States treasury and attending your serious attention ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid-an(?) appearance before a magistrate judge jewelry(?) for a federal criminal defense. The recorded message was a male, spoke English well. Same as all the others, That we need to call them to keep from getting deeper in trouble with US Treasury.
