Got email from Shoaib Khan - "I have a position in a company in your city, please send resume". I did it and got a call from this guy (this is his number). He has STRONG accent and does not look like a recruiter... He asked about my desured rate, immediately agreed with it and then started asking personal information - date of birth, ssn(!). I said him to do not call me anymore and dropped the call.
Be careful, it is personal info collection!
I WILL NOT answer a number I don't recognize. I have been getting tons of calls over teh past year from Indian people and I will not call them back if I can't understand them. I can't believe we have to outsource IT recruiters now. SUCKS!!!!
The douche-bag called my retired mother at her home looking for me and was pretending to have a job offer. Heavy accent, non-american, collecting information.
...it's really pretty simple. "Heavy accent" means that you are difficult to understand. If you mean to ask why we look at this as a negative, it's because one of the common-sense prerequisites for a customer facing position or recruiter position is the ability to communicate effectively. If I have trouble understanding the things you say, then you are clearly failing in your job. If you take offense to the implication that Indian IT recruiters are an annoyance, and good for little beyond stealing oxygen, then you are part of the problem. Have a nice day.
