Got email from Shoaib Khan - "I have a position in a company in your city, please send resume". I did it and got a call from this guy (this is his number). He has STRONG accent and does not look like a recruiter... He asked about my desured rate, immediately agreed with it and then started asking personal information - date of birth, ssn(!). I said him to do not call me anymore and dropped the call.
Be careful, it is personal info collection!
Got a call from this number today, he mentioned something about a job posting in monster website. He didn't tell me which company he's working for. He had a heavy Indian accent and I had to keep asking him to repeat because I could not understand his questions. Good thing I didn't give him any personal info.
Called claiming to have a job offer for me. Smelled fishy so said I wasn't interested and he hung up really fast. Guess he knew he wasn't going to be stealing my personal info and didn't want to waste any more time.
One thing: he knew my name, so I'm guessing they are pulling info from Monster.com, LInkedIn, or some other similar site.
At best I think this is an unethical recruiter. At worst, an identity theft scam. Either way I'm blocking this number.
This company has an 'F' rating with the BBB. An IT Recruiting company that can't even get a C rating from BBB has to be a scam and doesn't deserve my business. I can't beleive no one has sued these guys yet. At least I can't find any lawsuits online. I blocked this number but I'm sure they have the means to use another number and call back. Why can't the DNC do something about this?
Just received a call from this number. Thought it was a friend from CT. The guy did have an accent and had a difficult time understanding everything he was saying. After 3 attempts an a conversation, I hung up.
