Caller left message. Said he was calling from iRS and I owe taxes from 2008-2013. Talked about how they were going to get the money from me. When I asked what was my SS number he hung up.
I was contacted by "IRS" this morning. The message they left was a final message and a lawsuit was filed against my name. I called them back and had a man who bearly spoke English answer named Mark, he said I owed $4,874.00 for past due taxes form 2008-2013. They told me that they were going to cancel Social Securty, canceling my drivers license, putting a lean on my home and there was a warrant for my arrest. I need them to verify they were the IRS and that I need them to verify that I owed that amount of money. I wanted specifics on how the lawsuit was filled and that I would have to review it. I told them I hadn't heard from them previously and didn't undertand how this could be a final notice. They gave a address that they had been "sending" mail to but I did not live at the address for 5 years. When he was unable to give details he said he would transfer to my case worker and from there I was just left on hold. I reverse searched the phone number and saw these site. It is Interesting to me that the request for money was exactly the same as another victim from this site. The area code is for Seattle Washington not Washington D.C. Where we pay our federal taxes or Austin Tx where I pay my state taxes. This is a scam.
Call from 266-447-5222. Same VM content as others: IRS, lawsuit, etc. Asked to call 206-201-2044. Checked it out here and now I don't have to worry about it.
