Just got a call from the "IRS"...final notice, I'm being sued, call 206-201-2044. I looked up the number and saw all the posts saying it was a scam. Thank you, now feeling quite relieved.
I let this phone call go to voice mail; caller id stated Unavailable 267-487-5222 ( this phone number is registered to Olson Research in PA - so someone spoofed this number or someone within that company is a theif ). The robo voice stated something to the fact that this was my final notice and that the IRS would be filing a lawsuit. Left a phone number to call 206-201-2044 ( this area code is in Seattle, WA area ).
1st - I know IRS doesn't contact you this way
2nd - On the message they do NOT state who they are looking for, give you a case number, etc etc
3rd - When I try to call this number ( blocking my phone number ) they will NOT answer and it just rings and rings and then states that the party did not answer and that the phone call will be disconnected ( yes, otherwise, I would have let it ring for ever )
EVERYONE go to the IRS website and file a report on Phishing
I keep getting calls from this number saying this is the Irs we have been trying to c on tact you. This is the last warning. Call this number immediately.
